The active members of the Mountain Rescue Carlsfeld provide the rescue services care of the trails, the many hiking trails and the ski slopes in the western part of the Ore Mountains and in parts of the Vogtland maintained by the rescue "Westerzgebirge" safe. Their training includes medical measures, especially the Winter Rescue in rough terrain, as well as the summer and Rock Rescue.
The nature and environmental protection is also among the tasks of the mountain rescue service. As part of Red Cross work events receive medical care, blood donation campaigns carried out in cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Service Plauen, and organized clothing drives. The active youth work ensures the continuation of the operational capability and represents a meaningful activities for modern teenagers. Currently, more than 60 members spend their free time with these tasks, often in the mountain rescue station "Am Hirschkopf" in the Talsperrenstrasse of Carlsfeld.
